Breaking the Stigma of Addiction - Building Hope

Tyler James Westbury was born on November 10, 1992 and died November 4, 2013; just six days’ shy of his 21st birthday.
Tyler enjoyed spending time with family, especially his cousins and aunts and uncles. His favorite vacation destination
was Summersville Lake, WV where we would often spend long weekends with family and friends boating, tubing,
water skiing, cliff jumping and playing games in the hotel lobby at the end of each long day on the lake.

Crème brulee was his favorite dessert and he ordered it at every restaurant that served it. On a family cruise he was so
disappointed that is was not on the menu, the chef had it prepared one evening especially for our dining table at Tyler's
request. Tyler loved our dog Lanie, a short-hair collie mix we rescued six years ago. They often shared ice cream cones.
Tyler tried every sport growing up but found his true passion in art as a young adult. His talents with canvas and
sketching were limitless. Tyler made friends everywhere he went from all walks of life. He was diligent about never
judging anyone for anything other than their character. It did not matter to him what kind of house they lived in, car
they drove or possessions they owned. He treated everyone equally. He was a kind soul with a heart bigger than life.
